August is a notoriously hot month for Arkansans. In 1936 there were recorded temperatures in the state up to 117°F. There are many ways to keep cool in warm weather, but as there are no major holidays this month what else is significant about August?

In Memoriam: Robert "Bogie" Bramlett (JP9)

Robert “Bogie” Bramlett, logger, public servant, and friend to all, was born November 22nd 1947 in the Plant community to Monroe and Floy Bramlett. Bogie served as the Justice of the Peace for the people of the 9th District in Van Buren County until his passing on June 28th 2015.
